A narcissist may like things about you, like how you give chances, show affection, and understand them. But there’s one thing they really hate. They can’t stand it.
When they see that one thing in you, they become your enemy. They attack you from all sides, trying to break you, but they can’t. They want to destroy that one quality to control you, but they can’t do it.

A narcissist likes your kindness and understanding because they can use them against you. They enjoy manipulating these traits to benefit themselves.
But what they really hate is your determination. It makes you strong and tough. Even when they try to hurt you, you bounce back even stronger. That’s why they have trouble controlling you.
Defying Narcissists, Holding onto Your Strength
What really bothers them every day is knowing that there’s something special about you. They can feel it, but they can’t make it go away. They might copy how you dress, what you do for work, or where you live, but they can’t copy who you are.
They’re stuck always needing others, while you’re independent.
You give a lot, but they just take, and that’s why they always feel empty inside. It’s a big problem for a narcissist.
They aren’t as strong and independent as you are.
Inside, they know you don’t need them, but they’ll try to convince you otherwise. Why? Because they want to feel better than you.
When they can’t break you down, it hurts their pride and makes them feel like losers. They hate that you keep getting away from their mistreatment.
It makes them feel weak and stupid.
You wake up, you ask questions, you speak your mind, you stick to what you believe. Even though they mess with your head, in the end, you express your worries.
Ones they can’t ignore, and that’s what bothers them.
It shows how strong you are. Another reason they hate your determination is because they can’t treat you as badly as they’d like.
They want to mistreat you, but they can’t completely because you care about them. It’s because of how they manipulate you, play with your mind, and make you feel attached to them.
Understanding the Narcissist’s Lies
But they know inside that you know who they really are and that you’ll leave them someday, which they hate. They don’t want you to realize this. They want to control your mind and make you think that the narcissist you’re dealing with is a good person, not someone bad.
They want you to have no doubts or conflicting thoughts about them.
Maybe they’re not that bad, maybe they seem nice. They want you to believe their lies and be part of their fake world. But they can’t make it real.
You’re going through a tough time in the relationship, but deep down, you know you’ll have to leave someday.
It’s hard, especially with kids or money worries, and you’re scared. But you’re getting ready to leave, and that’s what they want to stop.
They want you to believe they’re good and blame yourself entirely. They don’t want you to question if they caused your behavior or realize they’re the problem, not you.
They don’t want you to know this. Your strength shows when you don’t let them control you, but they try to stop it. Because they can’t, they fail, and that’s why they hate it.
Understanding Why Narcissists Are Jealous and Insecure
They also hate that you can get better while they don’t change. They’ll just find someone else, but they’ll never change. But you can overcome what they did and find hope.
You can heal, get stronger, and find your real self. They can’t. They lost their true selves long ago.
They’re empty inside, and that’s what they hate.
They know you can find hope, overcome challenges, and be your own supporter. They can’t do that because they need others, and it really bothers them.
They dislike your honesty, when they see you having genuine conversations with others, they feel jealous.
Because of this jealousy, they put you down, criticize you, and blame you.
But deep down, they hate that they can’t be like you.
They pretend to connect with a fake mask, everything is fake for them. But for you, it’s real.
They don’t like it when your honesty draws people and makes them feel comfortable around you.
While it’s easy for you, they have to try hard to impress people, but it doesn’t last.
We both know their connections aren’t genuine. But for you, you just need to be yourself, and everyone wants to be around you. That’s what they hate; they want to spoil it.

They always make you doubt yourself by criticizing your skills and achievements. They say things like, “You only got that job by luck,” or “You can’t handle running a business.”
Their smirk shows they’re actually insecure and jealous of your success, trying to bring you down because they fear your potential.
They criticize you because they’re jealous of what you have.
Remember, it’s important not to let their negativity affect you. They hate that you’re strong and resilient, which makes it hard for them to control you, but they’ll use any weakness they can find to manipulate you.
